Hamriya Studios
Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) opened Al Hamriyah Studios in February 2017 on the Sharjah coast. Designed by Emirati architect Khaled Al Najjar, the 2510.8 m² space merges modern and regional architectural styles and repurposes a former souq. Al Hamriyah Studios provides artists a communal space for creating and connecting, with a courtyard, multi-purpose room, and pantry for social interaction. The courtyard, featuring local plants, hosts public events like outdoor cinema screenings and performances.
Alserkal Avenue | On This Land
On This Land began as the Palestinian Museum’s tribute to Gaza’s cultural legacy, now uncertain. In response, the Palestinian Museum, Barjeel Art Foundation, and Alserkal Arts Foundation united to realize the exhibition within two weeks.
This collaboration blends art and archives, offering a space for reflection on Gaza’s past and hopes for its future—a powerful act to preserve and amplify voices at risk of being silenced.
Alserkal Avenue | The Yard
The Yard, at the heart of Alserkal Avenue and beside the OMA-designed Concrete, is an outdoor space surrounded by creative hubs and leasable warehouses. Open daily, it offers space for recreation—from classes with Shimis and CRANK to relaxed afternoons with books and coffee.
As a venue for open-air events, The Yard hosts concerts, film screenings, talks, fashion shows, car launches, and other creative gatherings that bring the community together.
Cultural Foundation | Hussein Sharif: Re-framing Reality
The Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi presents Hussein Sharif: Re-framing Reality, an exhibition curated by Aysha Al Hemeiri and Zuhoor Al Sayegh. This retrospective spans over 40 years of the Emirati artist’s work, highlighting his commentary on consumerism and the Emirates' urban landscape. Known for creating “something out of nothing,” Sharif uses found objects like metal cans and wire to craft narratives that reflect his world, with installations displayed around the Foundation site.
